Comments
If a visitor leaves a comment on the site, we collect the data indicated in the comment form as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent data for spam detection purposes.
An anonymized string created from your email address (“hash”) may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once a comment has been approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media files
If you are a registered user and upload pictures to the site, you may want to avoid uploading pictures with EXIF metadata, as they may contain your GPS location data. Visitors can extract this information by downloading the images from the site.
Cookies
If you post a comment on our site, you can have your name, email address and website stored in a cookie. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in the details again when you comment again. These cookies are stored for one year.
If you have an account with the site and log in, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser supports the cookie, the cookie does not contain any personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you login to your account, we also set a number of cookies with your login details and screen settings. The login cookie is stored for two days and the screen settings cookie is stored for a year. If you choose the “Remember me” option, your login details will be stored for a fortnight. When you log out of your account, the login cookie will be deleted.
If you edit or publish an article in your browser, an additional cookie will be saved, it does not contain any personal data and it only contains the ID of the entry you edited, expires after 1 day.

How long we keep your data
If you leave a comment, the comment itself and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This is to detect and approve subsequent comments automatically instead of putting them in a queue for approval.
For users with a registration on our site, we store the personal information they provide in their profile. All users can see, edit or delete their profile information at any time (except for username). The website administration can also see and change this information.
